I personally think that the current Art Lab Commision has done a phenomenal job in promoting art as not only a form of therapy but also as a pathway for creative expression in the UCI community. I want to continue these efforts and expand it so that art can become a larger part of our entire UCI community. This will be done by increasing emphasis on cultural events through the arts. This will be done by ensuring that there is an individual Art Lab event dedicated to the multitude of cultural holidays that are celebrated on campus and increasing collaboration between different Cultural RCOs on campus with the Art Lab.

Next, I also want to destigmatize Art in STEM related fields and bridge the gap between the interdisciplinary fields. I’ll coordinate with STEM Schools and Senators to encourage students of those disciplines to show off their artwork and bring to light the beauty and art within STEM fields like the natural sciences and mathematics. Naturally, as President I also plan on coordinating these same efforts to the rest of the school so that the entire campus can participate in curricular-relevant artistic expression.
